Providing analytics for a metal selling organization to track customer and product trends.
This page is the first page a user would hit after they’re logged in. Showing them a key metric that’s graphed out for them which is “Customer Order Change Rate”.
We opted for the side by side bar graph to show at a very high level, how big of a change was this month’s orders from a customer compared to the previous month. Below that is 5 KPI cards that are most important for this user. The user can specify what it is they want to see in each card. Then having the data table of this users customer’s orders to just give access to any information they’d need and be able to find a specific order right at the first screen they’re served.
Clicking on any of the specific items from the main page, allows the user to view information specifically tailored around just that one product. Again, utilizing the bar chart to compare the “Volume Purchased by Customer” for this month versus the previous month.
Allowing the user to see these changes can help identify what action they need to take (if any) for a specific customer and also identify any patterns they see for this one product.
The customer specific dashboard can be accessed by any page with a data table that displays a customer name. Clicking any of them will bring you here with that customer's data laid out for you. Here you’re served with two different visualizations of data for this customer.
The first, shown below, is a line graph showing the yearly trend for a customers order volume of a specific product. Like with the bar graphs, a previous years trend is overlaid with it in light grey. Mousing over the line allows you to see the revenue and volume in pounds for a specific day. The other visualization is the donut chart showing Item Volume by Percent for the last 30 days. Each slice representing an item the customer has bought and mousing over shows the percentage that it makes up of total orders for the period.
We identified early on that giving the user a feed of relevant market info right in the software would be extremely helpful for them and would remove the need for external sources interfering with their process. So we came up with this drawer for the market feed. Opened by pressing the speech bubble icon on the top right, the users dashboard content condenses horizontally a bit for the drawer to slide in and out without obstructing any actions they’d need to perform.
